KS-Hawaii moves on with 44-33 win over Moanalua

Saydee Aganus scored a game-high 13 points to lead second-seeded Kamehameha-Hawaii to a 44-33 win over Moanalua in a Snapple/HHSAA Division II Girls Basketball State Championships quarterfinal game at Farrington's Richard Kitamura Gymnasium Thursday afternoon.

The Warriors (10-3) built an 11-0 lead and never looked back against Na Menehune (8-7).

KS-Hawaii shot 39.5 percent from the field, while limiting Moanalua to just 18.4 percent for the game.

Aganus was the lone Warrior to score in double figures. She also had a team-high eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals.

Raven Rosa-Lasco led Moanalua with 10 points and eight rebounds. Brittany Passi recorded a game-high 13 rebounds off the bench in the loss.

KS-Hawaii led at halftime, 27-13.

Camille Poe contributed eight points, six rebounds and four steals for the Big Island Interscholastic Federation-champion Warriors, who will face unseeded Saint Francis in a 5 p.m. semifinal at Kalani's Earl C. Homer Gym Friday.

Moanalua will meet Seabury Hall in a fifth-place semifinal at 7 p.m. Friday at Farrington.
