No. 1 Kahuku cruises past Moanalua, 72-48

Jessiya Villa and Daniel Fotu scored 16 points apiece to lead top-ranked Kahuku to a 72-48 road win over host Moanalua Tuesday night.

The Red Raiders, the No. 1 team in the ScoringLive/Hawaiian Electric Boys Basketball Power Rankings, improved to 6-0 and remain tied with McKinley atop the Division I East standings of the Oahu Interscholastic Association.

Samuta Avea added 14 points for Kahuku, which held a 34-19 lead at halftime.

CJ Bonilla scored 10 points to lead Moanalua, which also got nine points from Duncan Clark and eight from Jonathan Turk.

Na Menehune fell to 4-2 and saw their four-game win streak snapped.

Both teams return to the court Saturday. Kahuku will host Kaiser, while Moanalua will take on No. 8 Kalaheo.
