Findlay Prep flies by Mid-Pacific, 89-39

Led by PJ Washington's double-double, Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) pounded Mid-Pacific, 89-39 in the third game of the Iolani Classic at Iolani's Lower Gymnasium Friday night.

The Pilots move on to the quarterfinals to take on host Iolani on Monday, Dec. 19 at 5 p.m. The Owls fall to the consolation bracket to play Kaiser at 1:30 p.m. on the same day.

Washington, a five-star recruit and University of Kentucky signee, dropped 30 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, blocked five shots and doled out four assists for the Pilots who are ranked eighth in the USA Today Super 25 Expert Rankings.

Justin Roberts, who signed with DePaul, added 18 points and six assists. Lamine Diane contributed 13 points.

The Owls led momentarily with a 3-0 lead after Jacen Kimura's 3, but the Pilots came back to take a 19-11 lead after the first quarter.

Findlay Prep scored 25 points in the second and third quarters and held Mid-Pacific to four points in the third to put it away.

The Pilots outrebounded the Owls, 47-28 and blocked 10 shots.

Zion Shepherd led Mid-Pacific with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
