Evan Pantels kicked a 28-yard field goal with 49 seconds left to lift UNLV to a 41-38 road win over Hawaii at HTFCU Field at Aloha Stadium Saturday night.

The Rebels (3-4, 2-1 Mountain West) scored the final 10 points of the game after trailing the Rainbow Warriors (3-4, 2-1), 38-31, with nine minutes remaining. Lexington Thomas scored on a 34-yard touchdown run and Pantels knocked through the extra point to tie it at 38 with 4:58 left to play.

Hawaii crossed midfield on its ensuing drive, but quarterback Dru Brown lost a fumble that Darius Mouton returned to the UH 40-yard line. The fumble was forced by Rebels' linebacker Tau Lotulelei, a 2012 Maui High graduate.

Seven plays after the turnover, Pantels converted the game-winning field goal, his second of the night. Pantels also made an 18-yard field goal that gave the Rebels a 24-21 lead in the third quarter.

Thomas ran for a game-high 102 yards on 21 carries and caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Dalton Sneed, who completed 19 of 27 passes for 279 yards. Devonte Boyd added six receptions for 83 yards and a score.

Brown threw for 217 yards on 17-of-32 passing and threw touchdown passes of 3 and 7 yards to 2014 Punahou graduate Dakota Torres and Diocemy Saint Juste, respectively.

Marcus Kemp caught six passes for 126 yards, while Paul Harris was UH's leading rusher with 94 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Saint Juste added 10 rushes for 81 yards and 2012 Punahou grad Steven Lakalaka scored on a pair of 1-yard runs in the first half.

Hawaii finished with 446 yards of total offense to 535 for UNLV.

Jahlani Tavai led the Rainbow Warrior defense with 14 tackles, including nine solo stops.

The game was tied at 21 at halftime.

Hawaii will visit Air Force next Saturday.
