Mililani sweeps Leilehua to keep rolling

Mililani swept host Leilehua to take sole-possession of first place in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division Thursday night. The set scores were 25-13 and 25-23.

The Trojans improved to 4-0 on the year while the Mules (3-1) dropped their first match of the season.

Senior outside hitter Ashley Pawlak led the Mililani attack with a season-high 10 kills. Starr Sergent added six kills and two block assists, Falanika Danielson posted five kills, while middles Katie Asbery and Gabby Naniseni combined for seven kills.

Hope Carter, the 2015 OIA Western Division Player of the Year, was her usual self with 21 assists, five aces, two kills and one block assist. Her strong serves helped the Trojans go on a 11-0 run to begin game one.

Skylah Kunihisa and Abrianna Green had five and four kills respectively to lead the Mules in the loss.
