Kahuku handles Waiakea in straight sets

Kahuku swept Waiakea, 25-17, 25-20, 25-13, to advance into the semifinal round of the New City Nissan/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division I Girls Volleyball Championships.

The Red Raiders move on to face top-seeded Iolani despite committing 18 attack errors and 10 service errors.

Cheyenne Teo had 12 kills and three aces and Carey Williams chipped in 11 kills, eight digs and two block assists to lead the Red Raiders in the win at McKinley's Student Council Gymnasium Thursday night.

Kadara Marshall had six kills to lead Waiakea, the Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion and fourth-seeded team in the tourney.
