Coming off a strong second place finish in the Kamehameha Invitational, Na Menehune took on the Farrington Governors in a sweltering Moanalua gym.

Led by outside hitter senior JoJo Kruize and steady play by fellow senior libero Lindsey Ng, Moanalua prevailed 25-15, 25-20 to record their first win in league play.Farmington pushed Na Menehune closing to 19-18 with a good serve and pass game in the second set but Moanalua pulled away to take the set and match.

Moanalua's Coach Alan Cabanting: "We got our first game jitters out of the way. But we need to take care of fundamentals. Free ball passing really broke down for us in the second set. Farrington took advantage of that but the girls hung in there to get our first win of the season."

Both teams return to action on Wednesday, Na Menehune in a road contest against Roosevelt while Farrington travels to Kalani.
