No. 2 Maryknoll cruises past fourth-seeded Waiakea, 13-0

Mylee Enos hit a grand slam and drove in seven runs in all as Maryknoll powered past Waiakea, 13-0, in a quarterfinal game of the DataHouse/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division I Softball State Championships at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

The Spartans (16-2-1), who are ranked second in the ScoringLive/OC16 Power Rankings, got 13 hits from nine different players and held the fourth-seeded Warriors to just one hit in to advance to Thursday's semifinal round.

Enos batted 3 for 3, including a first-inning grand slam, and also scored twice. Shearyna Labasan and Kanoe Tanigawa each paired hits for Maryknoll, the Interscholastic League of Honolulu runner-up. Labasan and Kahilu McNicholl threw three innings apiece and combined on a one-hitter.

Skylar Thomas had the lone hit for the Big Island Interscholastic Federation-champion Warriors (11-4), who will play in a 9 a.m. consolation game Thursday.
