It will be Hawaii Prep vs. Mid-Pacific for 4th year in a row

For the fourth consecutive year, Hawaii Prep and Mid-Pacific will face off for the Outrigger Resorts Division II girls' state soccer tournament on Saturday.

The defending champion Ka Makani beat the Owls, 2-1, in overtime last year. The previous two years, the Owls prevailed, 2-0 in 2013 and 1-0 in 2012.

Hawaii Prep defeated Pac-Five, 2-1, in Friday's semifinals at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex.

Jamie Saito put Pac-Five ahead, 1-0, five minutes into the game. But HPA scored goals from Jordan Zarate in the 42nd minute and Gabbie Ewing four minutes later.

In the other semifinal, the second-seeded Owls beat third-seeded Kapaa, 2-1, in a match that required penalty kicks (4-3).

The Owls took a 1-0 lead on Kayla Watanabe's goal at the 25th minute. But with three minutes left in regulation, the Warriors tied the game on a goal from Jamie Kosaki.
