Roosevelt edged Radford, 23-25, 25-23, 15-13 last night to advance to today's O'ahu Interscholastic Association White Conference girls volleyball finals vs. Leilehua at McKinley's Student Council Gym.
First serve is set for 5 p.m., and the match will be televised live statewide on OC16. Leilehua (7-5 in league play) will be OIA White champion and earns the league's top seed and first-round bye in next week's Division II state tournament with a victory. If Roosevelt (9-6) wins, the teams will meet again Saturday in a winner-take-all playoff.
Radford (6-8) will be the OIA's No. 3 seed and will begin state tournament play in Wednesday's first round.
After dropping the first set last night at Farrington, Roosevelt rebounded to win Game 2 and overcame early deficits of 3-1, 5-2 and 7-4 to tie it up at 7-7 on a kill by Alida Holt.
The teams then traded points until the Rough Riders broke a 13-13 tie with Taylor Bradley's kill and ended it on a Radford hitting error.
