Punahou sweeps HHSAA swimming and diving titles

Punahou swept both boys and girls divisions of the HHSAA/OC16 Swimming and Diving Championships held at Kamehameha-Hawaii's Naeole Pool.

The Buffanblu boys edged ILH-rival Kamehameha-Kapalama by just 2 points, 49-47, in the team standings to take home the title, while Punahou's girls squad dominated, outscoring second-place Mid-Pacific by a 20-point margin.

Jasmine Mau was a standout in the girls division, setting or helping set four state records. She swam the 100-yard butterfly (52.23) and 200-yard freestyle (1:47.14) to set new state standards, and also helped her team set new marks in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.

On the boys side, Kamehameha-Kapalama's Ryan Stack set a state record in the 200-yard freestlyle (1:37.83),  won the 500-yard free style (4:30.96), and helped his team to a win in the 200-yard medley relay (1:37.37).
