WAIPIO - Elijah Davidann and Drew Ichikawa combined on a two-hitter to help Kalani beat Saint Louis, 6-0, Friday in American Legion 19-under baseball at Patsy Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park.

Davidann, a 2012 Kailua High graduate who just completed his first season at the College of Southern Idaho (JC), pitched six no-hit innings. The only runner to reach safely against him was on a fielding error by shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa. Ichikawa followed with a scoreless seventh after allowing two hits: a one-out double by Jaron Manago, who was thrown out at the plate to end the game after a two-out single by Kasey Kaleohelani.

Kalani coach Shannon Hirai was aware of the Davidann's no-hit bid, but said Ichikawa needed to get some work. Davidann had seven strikeouts.

Saint Louis starting pitcher Pono Anderson allowed four runs in five innings. Brendan Uchima, who started the game at third base, allowed two runs in his one-inning stint.

The 19-under division has returning high school players, recent graduates like Kiner-Falefa and players who just completed their freshmen seasons in college or JC, like Davidann, who said he will transfer to Feather River JC in California.

"I didn't get the opportunity I felt that I deserved, so I'll probably go to Feather River next year," the 6-foot-4, 205-pound right-hander said.

As for his outing Friday, the hardest-hit ball against Davidann came when Noah Abreu flied out to deep center to leadoff the sixth inning.

"To be honest, my arm was a little sore," Davidann said. "That's when you have to learn how to pitch, when you have to get on top, use your off-speed and locate more. I felt pretty good out there."

Kalani took a 2-0 lead in the second when it cashed in on two walks that eventually scored on a wild pitch and an RBI single by Micah Witty-Oakland.

The Falcons added two more in the fifth on an RBI double by Sean Romo and RBI ground out by Tanner Nishioka. They also drove in runs in the sixth on a Romo single and a bases-loaded walk by Nishioka.
