Kan, Ewaliko head 2013 Hall of Honor class

Baldwin's Keelan Ewaliko, a football, soccer and track and field standout, and Punahou's Carly Kan, who excelled in both volleyball and track and field, highlight the 2013 Enterprise Rent-A-Car/Hawai'i High School Athletic Association Hall of Honor class.

The 2013 Class of Inductees into the Enterprise Rent-A-Car/HHSAA Hall of Honor are:

Keelan Ewaliko, Baldwin (football, track & field, soccer)
Michael Fisher, Hawai'i Baptist (volleyball)
Kawe Johnson, Kahuku (football, basketball, track & field)
Shaun Kagawa, Kamehameha-Hawai'i (football, basketball, tennis)
Carly Kan, Punahou (volleyball, track & field)
Alex Masaquel, 'Iolani (basketball, softball)
Dane Pestano, Kamehameha (wrestling, judo)
Bree Rapoza, Kamehameha (wrestling, judo)
Renny Richmond, Seabury Hall (swimming)
Isaac Savaiinaea, Punahou (football, track & field)
Aofaga Wily, Kahuku (football)

These 12 outstanding senior student-athletes were selected by a 14-person committee of current and former sports reporters, athletic directors and coaches from around the state after two days of meetings. The criteria is based mainly on athletic achievement but character, sportsmanship, academic record and community service also are taken into consideration.

Each inductee also will receive a $2,000 scholarship courtesy of Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

The student-athletes will be formally inducted at an HHSAA Awards Banquet at 5 p.m. June 9 at the Sheraton Waikiki. For ticket information, please call 587-4495.

The Hall of Honor program has been recognizing the top 12 Hawai'i senior student-athletes each year since 1983.
