Mid-Pacific rolls to 14-4 win over Kamehameha

Mid-Pacific scored 13 runs in a huge first inning outburst to coast past Kamehameha, 14-4, in a game that lasted six innings due to the mercy rule.

The Owls sent 19 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first. Leadoff Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Marcus Doi both earned runs through walks by Kamehameha pitcher Nick Young on loaded bases, Bryce Asao had a 2 RBI base knock, while Ryne Saiki and Cameron Igarashi slammed RBI doubles. Kiner-Falefa also had a base-clearing triple.

Kamehameha relieved pitchers two times in the first inning alone. Josh Souza relieved Nick Young after Kiner-Falefa's triple RBI, and Eric Sniffen relieved Souza after Igarashi's double RBI.

The game remained 13-0 until the top of the 4th when Kamehameha's Ethan Rosehill blasted a two-run home run to center to put the Warriors on the scoreboard.

The Warriors scored again in the fifth with runs by JC De Jesus and Hoku Botelho to close to within 9 runs, but the Owls ended the game in the sixth, invoking the mercy-rule when a Kiner-Falefa single scored Bryce Nagata.
