Stant steps down as football head coach at Kamehameha

HONOLULU – Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Head Football Coach David Stant is leaving KS Kapalama to take the head coaching position with the Keio University in Japan, KS Kapālama Athletic Director Glennie Adams announced.

Stant spent six years as the head coach at KS Kapālama, as he was hired in 2007 to replace long-time head coach Kanani Souza. The Kahuku native helped KSK be competitive in the always-tough Interscholastic League of Honolulu, leading the Warriors to an HHSAA State Championship and ILH championship in 2009. The Warriors also finished second in the ILH Division II in each of the past three seasons.

"We are very sad to lose Coach Stant," said Adams. "But we are happy for him as he embarks on this new chapter in his coaching career."

A search for Stant's replacement at KS Kapalama will begin immediately.
