Kalaheo won its first OIA White division boys soccer title, and its first overall crown since 1996, defeating Farrington in overtime, 1-0, securing a seeded berth into the HHSAA boys soccer state tournament.

Cody Inagaki booted home the game winner for the Mustangs in the third minute of overtime, beating a Farrington defender and launching a shot that found the back of the net.

"I saw him (the defender) coming towards me and I just thought, beat him and take a shot at it no matter where it goes." said Inagaki.

Farrington, a 1-9 team just a year ago, finished its OIA campaign at 5-7-1 this year, including a berth into the upcoming state boys soccer tournament.

Kalaheo head coach John Nakagawa spoke about what the win meant for his team. "its just fantastic. Making the state tournament was one of our major goals for the season. And to win the OIA White championship is really frosting on the cake for us."
