Head coach: DuWayne Ke (9th season) Offensive coordinator: Maava Fuatagavi, Jr. Defensive coordinator: Kainalu Ke
Players to watch: UT Jonah Beck (Sr.), UT Keliikoa Nalu-Reyes (Sr.), DB Keenan Toriano (Sr.), UT Emman Badua (Jr.), DB Jycetin Mukini (Jr.)
Coach's words: "Honestly, we are not sure what to expect. The week that school starts give us a better idea of what we have to work with. What I can say is that our boys condition hard daily at the start of practice, as well as the end of practice. We do have a handful of student-athletes that are more than capable of doing their job on the field. We are excited about this upcoming season." - DuWayne Ke
SL's take: The Trojans posted an unbeaten 6-0 record in 2018, which marked their fourth straight BIIF 8-man title and fifth in six years. They were one win away from a .500 record last year, their first in 11-man and finished with a respectable 3-5 record. Kau will use a number of utility players, including Beck, Nalu-Reyes and Badua, to try and replace the production of Izaiah Pilanca-Emmsley, who earned Second Team All-Hawaii honors as a junior in 2019. The Trojans averaged more than 215 rushing yards per game that season and expect more of the same in terms of run-to-pass ratio in 2021. The defense will look to improve upon the nearly 30 points per game that it allowed two years ago.
