Player of the Year: Layden Kauka, Kohala

Layden Kauka came up clutch on the biggest stage to help the Cowboys win their first state title since 2020. The freshman guard scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the championship game against University Laboratory School and hit a pull up jumper for the game-winner. Kauka averaged 17.1 points on the season and averaged 15.7 points in BIIF play. He had a career-high 31 points against Honokaa and scored over 20 points three times in the BIIF season. In the state tournament, he scored 22 in their quarterfinal win over Kalani and poured in 19 to roll past Hawaii Baptist Academy in the semifinals.

Coach of the Year: Kihei Kapeliela, Kohala

Kihei Kapeliela's squad dominated the competition on the Big Island and won by an average of 20 points. The Cowboys trailed Kalani at halftime in the quarterfinals but outscored the Falcons 30 to 19 in the second half to advance. Kohala jumped out a big lead against Hawaii Baptist and put away the Eagles for good with a 23-point fourth quarter. In a closely contested championship game, Kapeliela pushed the right buttons and players came up with big plays in tight moments. Under his guidance, Layden Kauka was Player of the Year, brother Landon was named to the Second Team. Jaydon Hook and Isaac Libron were Honorable Mention selections for the Cowboys.
