Kekaulike advanced to the quarterfinals of the Motiv8 Foundation/HHSAA Division I boys soccer championships with a 4-1 win over Pearl City, with a familiar foe up next.

Lorenzo Gonzalez scored in the eighth minute and again in the 27th to pace the Na Alii, who held that 2-0 cushion until the 54th minute of play, when Manoa Monteiro made things interesting with a goal for the Chargers in the 53rd to make just a one-goal game.

But Elias Emmanuel had the answer in the very next minute of play, pushing the lead back to two, and Mateus Chauvin added another in the 74th to make it all but academic.

The win for Na Alii sets up a clash with top-ranked Mililani, who defeated Kekaulike by a 2-0 count a year ago in the same round of play.
