This game was close for eight minutes.

Then a storm came through.

Kapolei led by one after the first quarter, but outscored Mililani by 23 in the remaining periods for a 58-34 road win over the Trojans in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division contest Thursday night.

Ja'Shon Carter scored 19 points and Isaiah Higa added 18 more with three 3-pointers to help the tenth-ranked Hurricanes improve to 8-0 in the regular season.

Kaleo Pogue had nine points to lead the Trojans (5-3) in the loss.
