Jones to headline offensive skills showcase


Former University of Hawaii coach and current Kapolei offensive coordinator June Jones will be featured at the Island Grown Offensive Showcase on Saturday, July 16 at the Kapolei High School football stadium.

The showcase is open to students entering the eighth through 12th grades, specifically those playing the quarterback, running back, wide receiver, slot back or offensive line positions. Participants will be measured in the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle along with a profile picture, height and weight that will be entered into a database and sent to colleges and universities nationwide and in Japan.

Joining Jones will be Kapolei head coach Darren Hernandez and former UH special teams coordinator and current Hurricanes defensive coordinator Dennis McKnight.

Check-in is at 5 p.m. The showcase will run from 6 to 8 p.m.
