KAILUA – Noah Auld threw four touchdowns and Gabriel Lelesch rushed for a pair of scores in the first half as No. 7 Kailua wiped out Waipahu, 57-6 in the first round of the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I playoffs at Kailua's Alex Kane Stadium on Friday night. 

The Surfriders (5-2 OIA, 7-2 overall) advance to the quarterfinals to play at No. 6 Waianae (6-1 OIA, 6-2 overall). Waipahu ends their season at 1-6, 1-7 overall. 

"Waianae is a good team and we have to play our game. We cannot let them dictate what we're going to do, "said Auld, who threw for 242 yards on 10-of-17 passing. 

The Surfriders racked up 456 yards of net offense: 302 passing and 154 rushing for the game. 

Dalton Kalama scored on a 5-yard touchdown two minutes into the game. Waipahu got all the way down to the Kailua 26, but turned it over on downs. On the next play, Auld found Koolau Gaspar for a 74-yard touchdown and later threw a 34-yard touchdown to Gaspar as the Surfriders went up, 19-0. Gaspar had a team-high 121 receiving yards. 

"Our motto is to start off fast to get everyone in and that's what our goal is. I love my line and they are awesome. The run and pass game always get a push," said Auld. 

The Surfriders scored 31 points in the second quarter to put the game out of reach. Auld found Isaiah Damo-Agcaoili for a 22-yard touchdown. After a bad pitch, Kory Bernardino recovered it on the Waipahu 10-yard line. On the next play, Lelesch ran it in for the score. 

"Everything ran smoothly and we executed what we practiced and it all worked out. We hope to take this win and work toward next week. Our line is everything for us and they work hard and give us opportunities to move the ball," said Lelesch, who rushed for 71 yards. 

The defense harassed Blaise De Asis all night sacking him five times. De Asis was called for intentional grounding after being chased by Hano Kohatsu making the score, 36-0. The Surfrider defense held Waipahu to 13 net rushing yards for the game and hurried De Asis out of the pocket on several occasions. 

"When we tried to go to our option game, they were penetrating up the middle. We needed seven, but those drops were definitely costly. They (Kailua) got a bunch of players and all around they did they were successful," said Waipahu coach Bryson Carvalho. 

"The ends are crazy good (Mejia and Kohatsu) and they put pressure even when we don't even blitz," said Lelesch. 

"I hate running scout team against those two ends and the secondary and that's one hell of a defense. Those ends, I don't think anyone can block them now and that secondary flies," added Auld. 

De Asis, who finished with 101 passing yards, threw a 49-yard touchdown to Andrew Simanu with 3:58 left in the second quarter for Waipahu's only score of the game. Simanu led the Marauders with 79 receiving yards and finished with 810 yards on the season. 

Auld threw his fourth touchdown and was done for the night to Kohatsu for 3 yards and Lelesch added his second touchdown, a 44-yard touchdown, as the Surfriders took a commanding 50-6 lead at halftime.  

Backup quarterback Paul Serikawa, Jr. threw a 38-yard touchdown to Jonovan Lee for the final score of the game early in the fourth quarter.
