MILILANI — Just eight days after seeing its 16-game winning streak come to an end, it was back to business as usual for Mililani Saturday night.

Quarterback McKenzie Milton threw five touchdown passes and 360 yards on 17-of-27 passing as the Trojans cruised past Aiea before a homecoming crowd of about 2,500 fans on a still, humid night at John Kauinana Stadium.

The win keeps Mililani (4-1 overall, 4-0 league), No. 3 in the ScoringLive/Hawaiian Electric Division I Power Rankings, on pace with Farrington (5-0) atop the standings of the seven-team Oahu Interscholastic Association D1 Blue conference, setting-up a marquee regular-season matchup when the teams face off Thursday night at Aloha Stadium.

"It was good that we came back and had a solid game," said Milton, one week after the Trojans' 76-53 loss at Liberty (Henderson, Nev.), where they surrendered 628 yards and 11 touchdowns. "We've just got to hold that as a chip on our shoulder. We know we're beatable, we still had a lot of mistakes tonight and we'll correct that because we've got Farrington next week and they look tough."

Milton, the reigning All-Hawaii Offensive Player of the Year and a University of Hawaii-commit, has thrown for 1,650 yards and 22 touchdowns against three interceptions this year.

He said the loss to the Patriots has already proved to be beneficial for his team.

"I mean, you never want to lose, but I guess it was just kind of a reality check for us," Milton said. "We've just got to work on little things, we've got to work on wrapping up, we've got to work on finishing plays — me not missing targets, o-line getting to the second level, not missing blocks — just little things that we've got to work on, but I think we'll be all right."

The Trojans stumbled out of the gate Saturday night, turning it over on downs at midfield on the first possession of the game and leading to Noah Taiese's 5-yard touchdown run on an option-keeper to put Na Alii ahead, 6-0. six plays later.

"It was definitely a wake-up call," Milton said of the early deficit. "We can't take any opponent lightly. We know that we're going to get everyone's best shot. We've just got to take it one game at a time and one day at a time."

Mililani responded right away, needing just four plays to drive 67 yards, culminating in Vavae Malepeai's 10-yard touchdown run off right tackle.

"We came out flat," Trojans' head coach Rod York said. "We went four-and-out and then we gave up a touchdown. That kind of woke the guys up, woke us up and from there we handled our business."

The Trojans capped their next three offensive possessions with touchdowns — all Milton TD passes. He threw 21- and 22-yard scoring passes to Bryson Ventura, sandwiched around a 26-yard touchdown pass to Kalakaua Timoteo, who also hauled in a 32-yard TD from Milton three plays into the second half.

Elias Pritchard scored on defense on a 30-yard scoop-and-score after Isaac Liva sacked Aiea quarterback Zelius Maae-Liupaono and jarred the ball loose. Liva had three of Mililani's five sacks.

"He's an athlete, so it's easy to coach athletes; you've just got to get them going in the right direction," York said of Liva, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound defensive end, who was a standout volleyball and basketball player at Hawaii Baptist last season before transferring to Mililani in the summer. "First time ever playing football, so he's learning every single minute that he's on the field."

Isaiah Kuloloia's extra point gave Mililani a 34-6 lead at halftime.

Malepeai, a University of Oregon-commit, went untouched for a touchdown on a 65-yard screen pass from Milton midway through the second quarter, and also intercepted a pass late in the game while playing defensive back.

The Trojans closed the scoring on Maka Chun's 4-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Aiea managed just 111 yards after its opening drive and turned it over twice on interceptions. It converted just 2 of 10 third downs and was 0 for 3 on fourth downs. Six of its 16 total first downs came via Mililani penalties.

The Trojans were flagged 25 times in all for a total of 255 yards.

Na Alii starting quarterback Kobe Kato (911 pass yards, 12 TD, 10 INT) did not play due to a concussion he suffered against Farrington last week.

"He could have played, but as a precaution we didn't play him," Aiea coach Wendell Say said. "He passed his concussion tests, but he still has to do the follow-up part — the physical part — so the main thing was to keep him healthy for the rest of the season."

Aiea struggled to get through the week with a large amount of players dealing with illness.

"A lot of these kids we benched because they were sick and even I was out two days because I was so bad. Half the coaches were out sick, so all around we're not healthy," Say said. "I give our kids credit; they played hart but eventually everything kind of builds up and when you face a good team it's hard. These guys keep banging at you, banging, so it's tough. That's the truth of this team; I mean they've just got a lot of talent and you have to be able to stay healthy to compete with guys like this."

It was the fourth straight loss for Na Alii, who dropped to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in Blue.
