Hawaii State Basketball Officials Association to hold open house

The Hawaii State Basketball Officials Association (HSBOA) invites all officials who are interested in officiating high school basketball to an open house on Tuesday, September 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Aloha Stadium hospitality room.

Individuals with no experience or those who wish to officiate youth and intermediate leagues are also encouraged to attend.

The association is a nonprofit organization that officiates Oahu Interscholastic Association boys and girls basketball games. All members will attend mandatory sessions in rules, mechanics, and philosophy as well as on-court situations. For current HSBOA members, the first general meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 28 at 7 p.m. at Aloha Stadium.

For more information about the association or basketball officiating in Hawai'i, please call Alton Mamiya (551-0916), Tom Yoshida (282-2299) or visit our web site at hsboa.weebly.com.
