Konawaena forfeits three wins due to ineligible player

As reported by West Hawaii Today, Konawaena has forfeited three wins due to the use of an ineligible player this season.

The ruling, which was appealed by Konawaena but upheld in 9-1 vote before the BIIF's full board on Wednesday, erases wins over Maui and Hilo in non-conference play, as well as a 49-13 win over Honoka'a in the Wildcats' league opener.

Despite the forfeitures, Konawaena (3-1 BIIF, 3-4 overall) remains in contention for postseason play, and can claim the BIIF Division II first-half regular season title with a win over Kamehameha-Hawaii on Saturday.
