Damien sweeps Maryknoll for key ILH D2 win

The Damien girls volleyball team came away with a key ILH Division II win after a straight set sweep over visiting Maryknoll Saturday afternoon.

Three different players registered 10 kills or more for the Monarchs, who moved into second place in the league standings with two games remaining in the league's first round.

Kiana Cueto led all attackers with 12 kills and three aces, Aiyanie Park added 11 kills and Kaila Kalama-Bajet had 10 kills and three aces to round out the Damien attack. Kenna Wengler was at the controls in the Monarchs' 5-1 offense, finishing with 33 assists to go along with six blocks, three digs and two kills.

Tayah-Anne Toa had 10 kills to lead the Spartans in the loss.
