WAIPAHU — Emi Higgins scored a goal in each half to lead top-seeded Hawaii Prep to a 2-1 win over Seabury Hall in the semifinals of the Queen's Medical Center/HHSAA Division II Girls Soccer State Championships at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium Friday afternoon.

Ka Makani, the Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion, improved to 10-2-2 to reach their sixth consecutive state final. They will try for their fourth straight title at 5 p.m. Saturday against second-seeded Kapaa.

Higgins, a sophomore forward, scored just 25 seconds into the match to give HPA an early lead.

Makena Dougherty netted the equalizer in the 33rd minute on her header that started off a corner kick from teammate Kalena Pfaeltzer.

Four minutes into the second half, HPA's Jenna Perry drew a foul when she was taken down in the 18-yard box. Higgins converted the subsequent penalty kick for the go-ahead goal.

Maia Mills made six saves in goal for Ka Makani.

Seabury Hall, the Maui Interscholastic League titlist, fell to 5-7-1 and will meet third-seeded PAC-5 for third place at 3 p.m. Saturday at field No. 8.
