Nanakuli pulls away from Roosevelt in the second half, 57-32

Nanakuli outscored visiting Roosevelt by 21 in the second half for a 57-32 win in the first round of the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I playoffs at Hugh Taufaasau Court Friday night.

The Golden Hawks (9-2), seeded third from the OIA West, will take on Farrington, the OIA East's second-seeded team, Saturday night in the quarterfinals. The winner will clinch a state berth into the Division I state tournament.

Alana Nuuanu scored 19 points and Kalei Cates added 11 to lead Nanakuli in the blowout win.

Sunshine Vicente had 10 points and seven rebounds to lead the Rough Riders (3-8) in their season-ending loss.
