WAIPIO — Pac-Five used a hot start to win the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division II double-elimination tournament over Damien, 6-2, Tuesday afternoon at Patsy T. Mink Central Oahu Regional Park.

Lee Tanaka tossed eight strikeouts in a complete game effort to help the Wolfpack improve to 10-8 on the season.

Damien's season is over at 8-11.

Pac-Five will now play regular season champion Saint Francis for the league overall crown and berth into the state tournament. Because the ILH only has one berth into the Division II tourney this year with Maryknoll now in Division I, the Wolfpack will need to beat the Saints twice in order to lock up the title.

Zane Oshiro, Brandon Miyasato, Richard Higa and Tanaka each had two hits apiece to lead the Wolfpack offense.

Pac-Five had nine total hits on Damien starter Grayson Bueno, who tossed five strikeouts.

Paul Mezurashi had a triple to lead the Monarchs.
