Punahou overcame a 4-0 first-inning deficit to top host Mid-Pacific, 6-5, and keep pace atop the league standings Friday afternoon.

The third-ranked Buffanblu scored five combined runs in the fifth and sixth inning to improve to 4-1 in Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I play. This sets up Saturday's meeting with top-ranked Saint Louis (4-1) as a battle for first place.

Noah Goss batted 3 for 3 with three RBIs to lead the Punahou offense. He also pitched five innings before getting pulled for Riley Guieb, who tossed three strikeouts against one hit to pick up the win.

Cameron Wong went 2 for 3 at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored for Mid-Pacific (3-3). Jacob Maekawa took the loss pitching two innings in relief of Ethan Fujikami.
