Kamehameha sweeps past King Kekaulike

Shiloh Peleras had 11 kills and Kayla Afoa added 11 digs with nine kills to lead Kamehameha to a sweep of third-seeded King Kekaulike in a quarterfinal match of the New City Nissan/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division I Girls Volleyball State Championships at Moanalua Thursday night.

The scores were 25-13, 27-25 and 25-19.

The Warriors (15-5) move on to face second-seeded Moanalua in a 7 p.m. semifinal at McKinley Friday.

Brooke Kaawa added nine kills and had five of Kamehameha's nine service aces. Lexis Akeo had 31 assists and nine digs.

Breannalye Rodrigues had seven kills and Sirinya Yothawong had 17 digs for Na Alii (13-3), which will face Kapolei in a consolation match 7 p.m. Friday at Moanalua.
