Kahuku flexed its offensive attack to sweep Leilehua, 25-15, 25-17, 25-18 at McKinley's Student Council Gymnasium Wednesday night.

The Red Raiders had a .406 hitting percentage in their win over the Mules in the first round of the New City Nissan/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division I Girls Volleyball Championships. They will move on to face Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion Waiakea in the quarterfinals.

Two early kills by middle Phoebe Grace helped open up the Kahuku offense as the Mules were forced to defend multiple areas of the court.

Jasmine Niutupuivaha was the most consistent weapon for the Red Raiders, totaling 14 kills on 17 attempts with no errors. Carey Williams had a match-high 18 kills on a .517 hitting percentage and Cheyenne Teo rounded out the Kahuku players in double figures with 10 kills.

Elisha Levasa led the Mules in the loss with eight assists and a team-high five kills.
