Gaison named ILH executive director


Kamehameha-Maui athletic director Blane Gaison has been named Interscholastic League of Honolulu executive director, the ILH board of directors announced in a press release.

Gaison, a Kamehameha-Kapalama and University of Hawaii-Manoa alumnus, brings experience in multiple levels in athletics. He is a former National Football League player, coached his alma mater's football team and worked at the Kapalama campus is its athletic administration.

The press release said that Gaison will begin duties Jan. 4. Georges Gilbert will remain as interim director until then.

Gaison succeeds Don Botelho, who held the position for 13 years before stepping down in June.
