ILH, MIL continues playoffs this week

The Interscholastic League of Honolulu and Maui Interscholastic League will determine their overall Division I league champions this week.

The league champions will secure the final two seeded berths for the Wally Yonamine Foundation Division I state tournament set for May 6 to 9 at Les Murakami Stadium.

Oahu Interscholastic Association champion Campbell and Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion Hilo have earned seeded berths.

All 12 spots for the Division I tournament are set.

Mid-Pacific hosts Kamehameha, 3:45 p.m. Tuesday for the ILH double-elimination tournament title. The Owls, the regular-season champion, can clinch the overall title with  a win. Kamehameha needs to beat MPI three consecutive games to take the overall crown.

Meanwhile, Maui will play Baldwin Wednesday at Iron Maehara Stadium for the overall MIL title. Maui won the tournament title, while Baldwin captured the regular-season crown.

In ILH Division II, Maryknoll will play Pac-Five, 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at Ala Wai Field. The regular-season champion Spartans can clinch the overall league championship with a win, while the Wolfpack need to win three in a row to do the same.

The seeded berths for Division II cannot be determined yet because there are five league champions, meaning one won't be seeded.
