State tournament pairings set for football

Save for one, all of the First Hawaiian Bank state football tournament opening-round pairings have been set, the Hawaii High School Athletic Association announced.

The winner of the Campbell-Farrington game will play Maui, 4:30 p.m. and Big Island champion Hilo is scheduled to meet Kahuku at 7:30 p.m., both on Friday at Aloha Stadium. It is the first time a Neighbor Island team will not host a first-round game.

Top-seed Punahou will play the winner of Kahuku-Hilo Nov. 15 and the winner of the other first-round game will play second-seeded Mililani.

Campbell will play Farrington for OIA's third state berth. Game time is 6 tonight at Mililani.

In Division II, OIA champion Nanakuli will travel to the Big Island to play Kamehameha-Hawaii and Pearl City will play Kapaa at Vidinha Stadium in Lihue, both at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The winner of Kamehameha-Nanakuli will play top-seeded Lahainaluna Nov. 15 at War Memorial Stadium on Maui and second-seeded Iolani will host the winner of Kapaa-Pearl City.
