Konawaena defeats Hawaii Prep in four to win D2 crown

Konawaena took down Hawaii Prep in four sets, 25-16, 24-26, 25-18, 25-21, to win the school's first ever state title in girls volleyball at the New City Nissan/HHSAA Division II Girls Volleyball Championships held at McKinley's Student Council Gymnasium.

The Wildcats were led by a 28-kill, 20 dig performance by tournament's Most Outstanding Player Chanelle Molina, and sister Celena, who racked up 29 digs to go along with 7 kills, 2 aces and 5 assists.

Hawaii Prep, who defeated Konawaena in a previous match for the BIIF title a little less than a week previous, got 22 kills and 25 digs from Gabbie Ewing, and 12 kills, 20 digs and 2 blocks from middle Tiana Reynolds.
