The Fall prep championship season is getting into full swing with league tournaments already underway and state tournaments just around the corner. Consider this week a sneak peek of the excitement to come.

Here's a look at the top matches/games/meets on this week's schedule:

TUESDAY, OCT. 22

Girls volleyball — OIA playoffs losers' bracket finals matches at McKinley (TV: OC16)

Kalaheo takes on Roosevelt in a 5 p.m. White Conference (Division II) match while Kahuku plays Moanalua in a Red Conference (Division I)  match to follow. The Mustangs (5-8) and the Rough Riders (7-6) will play for a shot at Radford (6-6) Wednesday. The Red Raiders (12-1) and Na Menehune (11-3) will play for a shot at Mililani (12-0) Wednesday.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 23

Girls volleyball — OIA playoffs championship matches at McKinley (TV: OC16)

The winners of Tuesday's losers' bracket matches return to Student Council Gymnasium for another set of televised matches. Radford (White) and Mililani (Red) have yet to lose in the double-elimination tournaments. If either wins Wednesday, it claims the OIA championship. If either loses, there will be a winner-take-all rematch Saturday. The White match will take place at 5 p.m. and the Red match at 7 p.m.

THURSDAY, OCT. 24

Football — OIA Red Tournament semifinals at Aloha Stadium (TV: OC16)

It's the final four of public-school football on Oahu. In a rematch of last year's Red title game, No. 7 Kahuku (6-3) plays No. 3 Mililani (8-1) at 4:30 p.m. That game will be followed by fifth-ranked Campbell (7-2) taking on sixth-ranked Farrington (7-2) in the 7 p.m. late semifinal. The winners are assured a spot in next month's state tournament. The losers must playoff for the OIA's third and final berth.

Girls volleyball — ILH second-round playoff at Kamehameha

Punahou (11-2) return to Kunuiakea Gym just five days after upsetting previously-unbeaten Kamehameha (13-1) in five sets Saturday (25-21, 23-25, 15-25, 25-13, 15-13). It will be the fourth time the teams have met this season. The Warriors, who won the first round of the regular season, swept the first two meetings. If the Buffanblu win, there will be a one-match playoff Friday for the overall ILH championship, along with the league's No. 1 seed and a first-round bye at next week's state tournament. Match time is 6 p.m.

FRIDAY, OCT. 25

Football — ILH Postseason finals at Aloha Stadium (radio: ScoringLive.com/NBC Sports Radio)

Six-time Division II state champion Iolani (6-4) can punch its ticket to another state tournament with a win over second-seeded Damien (4-5) in the 5 p.m. matinee, while the feature game pits top-ranked Punahou (8-0) and second-ranked Kamehameha (9-1) in the D1 final, which is set to kickoff at approximately 7:45 p.m. Both the Raiders and Buffanblu won the regular-season and can clinch a state tournament berth with a win. If the Monarchs or Warriors win, the teams would play against on Nov. 2 in a one-game playoff.

Cross Country — Honolulu Marathon/HHSAA State Championships at Island School, Kauai

The top 160 boys and girls from the five leagues statewide will come together on the Garden Island for their final race of the season. Kamehameha's Davis Kaahanui looks to defend his individual championship along with the Warriors' team crown. On the girls' side, Seabury Hall's Dakota Grossman is looking to become just the second four-time state champion in state history and first since Punahou's Eri McDonald did so from 1995 to 1999. The Buffanblu are the defending team champions. The boys' race begins at 9 a.m. with the girls' race set for 9:45 a.m.
