Campbell, Kaiser to kick off 2013 prep football season

The Sabers finished 2012 with a 6-4 record, a fifth-place finish in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red West Conference and a loss in the league quarterfinal round to Mililani.
The Cougars went 7-3 a year ago, finishing atop the OIA White Conference regular-season standings, but saw their season cut short when they were upset by Nanakuli in the league semifinals.
Neither team qualified for its respective state tournament a year ago, but coaches of both teams have lofty expectations for the fall.
A pair of veterans will handle the quarterbacking duties in this one. Campbell senior Isaac Hurd split duties with now-graduated Justin Tago-Su'e the past two seasons and has stepped into the full-time starting role. Meanwhile, Kaiser senior Lii Karratti is a new face on campus but not to the gridiron. He transferred in the offseason from Konawaena on the Big Island, where he led the Wildcats to a Division II league championship and a state-tournament appearance last year.
The game will be live streamed online at ScoringLive.com and simulcast on NBC Sports Radio/AM1500. Handling play-by-play duties will be Felipe Ojastro with Mark Veneri providing color commentary. The stream will begin at 7:25 p.m. with an expected kickoff time of 7:35 p.m.
