Waianae claimed its first OIA White division title, and its first league title since 1991, with a 7-0 victory over Radford in an afternoon affair at Hans L'Orange Field.

Starter Kekoa Kaluhiokalani, Jr. was nothing short of dominant, allowing just one hit, walking just one and striking out seven to earn the complete game victory.

"Congrats to my defense, props go to them." said Kaluhiokalani, Jr. "Towards the ending (of the game), they picked me back up."

The Seariders offense contributed 12 hits in support of Kaluhiokalani, led by Cleghorn Borge, who finished the afternoon with a 2-for-4 day at the dish, including a double, 2 runs scored, and an RBI.

"I thought we hit the ball real well, which made it easier for our pitcher to try to get after it a little bit." said Waianae head coach Kekoa Kaluhiokalani, Sr.

The Seariders will enter the Division II state tournament set for May 8-11 as the seeded team from the OIA along with Radford and Kaimuki, a 9-7 winner over Waialua.

"It gives us a lot of motivation for the next games, hopefully we stay tight together, play as a team. And when states come, we want to make it happen." said Kaluhiokalani, Jr.
