Kamehameha's Pedrina selected for USA Baseball event


Kamehameha-Kapalama outfielder Raymond Ali'i Pedrina has been selected to participate in the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars, June 19 to 24, in Cary, N.C., according to representatives from the ABD Hawaii program.

Pedrina, an incoming senior, is one of 144 players nationwide who will be considered for the 18-under USA team.

Players will be divided into teams that will play games over a four-day period. The 18-under National Team Trials selections will be announced on June 24.

Past players who have taken part in the TOS include Bryce Harper (2010), Joe Mauer (2001), Delmon Young (2003) and Justin Upton (2005), according to the USA Baseball web site.
