'Iolani leads after Day 1 of boys golf state tourney


'Iolani holds a four-stroke lead over Moanalua after the first day of the David S. Ishii Foundation boys golf state championship at Wailua Golf Course on Kauai.

Both teams hold the top four spots in individual play, with Moanalua sophomore John Oda firing a 4-under par 68 to lead the way, followed by 'Iolani junior Eric Le and Moanalua senior Jefferson Yee two strokes back in second both having shot 2-under par 70.

'Iolani senior Lorens Chan is in fourth, carding a 71 in the opening round.

The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final round beginning at 7:00a. Live scoring for the final day of the golf tournament is available at hsjga.org.
