ROOS: Taylor-Elise Mendoza 2-3 2 runs dbl

Kalani's offensive prowess picked up right where it left off, with a 13-3 mercy-rule shortened win over Roosevelt.

Naomi Stremick was 2 for 4 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI, Kylie Tanimura added a 2 for 3 day at the plate with a double, two runs and two RBI, and two other Falcons also knocked home a pair of runs, Ashlyn Sera and Leona Stremick.

All nine starters either scored a run or drove one home for Kalani, who needed only nine hits to reach the 13 run mark.

Roosevelt settled down after a rough opening inning, but never got much going offensively outside of Taylor-Elise Mendoza, who batted 2 for 3 with a double and scored twice.

The Rough Riders trailed 11-1 heading into the top of the fifth, but scored two runs on three consecutive base hits,  to extend the game for at least a half an inning.

Kalani quickly countered with a Tanimura single followed by a Naomi Stremick double that put the game-ending run on second. A ground out on the next at-bat made it 12-3, and Layna Faria singled home Stremick to end it.

Starter Kadie Carpio went three innings to earn the win, allowing one earned run on three hits, and gave way to Harmony Kamalani, who finished the final two innings.

Roosevelt's Kara Kahahawai allowed 13 runs on nine hits in the loss. Four Rough Riders' error in the field certainly proved costly, directly leading to three Kalani runs.
