EWA BEACH - Taysia Molina-Schulte and Aliyah Bantolina combined for 36 points and No. 5 Campbell ousted visiting Mililani, 59-26, Monday night in opening-round action of the Heide & Cook Division I girls' state basketball tournament.
The Sabers (18-5) will take on top-seeded and four-time defending state champion Iolani (20-2) in a 5 p.m. quarterfinal Wednesday at McKinley.
The game began tight, knotted at 9 after the first quarter. The Sabers took a 21-16 lead into the break before scoring 38 second-half points to pull away from the Trojans (11-13), whose season has ended.
On the strength of five 3-pointers, Molina-Schulte led all scorers with 20 points. Bantolina followed with 16 points and led the defense with nine steals. Tehani Docktor led all players with 12 rebounds
Shania Wilson led the Trojans with 14 points, including their only 3-pointer, and seven rebounds.
