When the Enriques twins are on fire, watch out for the Warriors.
KS-Hawaii defeated Waipahu in straight sets, 25-20, 25-17, 25-21, in the quarterfinals of the New City Nissan/HHSAA Division I state tournament at Radford's Jim Alegre Gymnasium Thursday night.
The Warriors, the second-seeded team and Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion, will face Interscholastic League of Honolulu runner-up Iolani Friday night in the second semifinal match at the Moanalua High School Gym.
The Warriors used a three-pronged attack that saw just four Warriors score kills in the match. Avery and Addison Enriques led the way with 15 and 13 kills respectively.
Nalu Kahapea contributed 10 kills and three digs in the win.
Waipahu made it a one-point game at 21-20 in the opening set of the match, but Kamehameha closed with a 4-0 run to take a one set lead, and the Marauders were never able to recover.
The Marauders hit 0.73 for the game and recorded eight service errors. Bradley Tacata led Waipahu with nine kills and one dig in the loss.
