Top-seeded KS-Hawaii flexed its offensive prowess with a 13-3 six-inning win over Waipahu Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the DataHouse/HHSAA Division II state tournament.
The Warriors, the Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion, overcame an early 2-0 deficit with 10 consecutive runs in the first three innings to put the game out of reach for the unseeded Marauders.
Waipahu broke KS-Hawaii's string of scores with a run in the top of the fifth, but the Warriors added three more runs for a mercy-rule victory.
KS-Hawaii advances to face unseeded Saint Francis, the Interscholastic League Honolulu representative, Friday in a 2:15 p.m. semifinal at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
