Mid-Pacific jumped out to lead early against upset-minded Saint Louis, then held the Crusaders to just one run the rest of the way in a 3-1 victory on Senior Day.

The Owls got things rolling in the first, with leadoff batter Nicolas Alarcio reaching first with a single up the middle. A sacrifice bunt by shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa would move Alarcio up to second, and he would come home to score one batter later on Travis Garcia-Perreira's double to deep center.

Then, after putting down the Crusaders in order in the second, Mid-Pacific would add to their lead, with Skyler Tengan drawing a leadoff walk. Tengan would move over to second on a wild pitch, and then come home on a single to the gap in right by Skyler Tengan.

Tengan would score the third run of the game for the Owls on a Brent Sakurai sacrifice fly to center.

Owls starter Ivan Dilda was solid through five, allowing just three hits and a walk with three strikeouts, but would run in a little bit of trouble in the sixth.

With Isaac Ramboyon on third base and two outs, Kaimi Umebayashi would draw a walk to put runners on the corners. Then on the next at-bat, Ramboyon would come home to score on a wild pitch to Shayne Kurihara. The rally would be short lived, as Dilda would recover on the next batter, inducing a pop out to center to get out of the inning.

Mid-Pacific and Kamehameha who both won today to finish the season at 14-2, will face each other in a one-game playoff at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Mid-Pacific to determine the ILH champion, and with that, a first-round bye in the HHSAA baseball championships the week after next.
