A trio of Spartans scored in double figures as Maryknoll trounced Hawaii Baptist Academy, 50-23 at Dan Liu Gymnasium Thursday.
Rebekah Lum Kee led the Spartans (2-0 ILH) with 11 points, including three 3-pointers off the bench and Hailey Perez and Khansas Tuisamatatele each added 10 to help the Spartans win their third-straight game and went up 2-0 in the ILH Division II standings.
Sienna Lamblack led the Eagles with 12 points, who fell to 1-1 in the ILH.
Lamblack scored off a baseline cut for the Eagles only field goal in a brief 2-1 lead but Maryknoll's defense turned into 16-straight points. Maryknoll scored eight points in transition and Lum Kee and Skyline Moore each drained 3-pointers during the run.
Kaitlyn Maruya hit a pair of free throws with 1:05 left for the Eagles and trailed, 17-4 going into the second quarter.
The Spartans went up by as much as 18 in the second quarter off Perez's drive. Lamblack hit two of her 3-pointers in the second quarter as Maryknoll led, 27-14 at half-time.
HBA got within 11 following Lauren Okuda's free throws early in the third but could not get any closer. The Spartans padded their lead with six points in the paint and a pair of 3-pointers from Lum Kee and Kalae Kaopua to go up 22 and went up by as much as 29 in the fourth.
Maryknoll hosts South Kamloops (British Columbia, Canada) on Dec. 29.
HBA looks to get back on track and faces Mid-Pacific on Saturday, Dec. 16.
