Pembroke Pines batters Central Catholic, 75-50
The Jaguars from Florida turned a slim first quarter lead into a lopsided affair after outscoring the Rams (Portland, Oregon), 25 to 5 in the second quarter.
Pembroke Pines went on an 11-1 run led by Kolby King, who scored 16 of his 24 points and sank two of his three 3-pointers in the first half.
Caelum Ethridge added 18 points and three triples and Geoff Sprouse added eight as all players on the Jaguars' roster saw playing time.
Luke Johnson led all scorers with 29 points and Gray Thompson added 10 off the bench in the loss.
West Linn blitzes Baldwin, 100-39
The Lions from Oregon put up another 100 point game in the tournament and blitzed and turned over the Bears (Wailuku, Maui) from the get-go.
Jackson Shelstad, a University of Oregon commit, led the way with 33 points and four 3-pointers. Max Juhala and Trask Petersen each added 12 and Peyton Durbin had 10 to round out the double digit scoring for West Linn.
Quintan Akaka led the Bears with 13 points and Avery Pauole added nine, and 6-foot-7 center Hudson Yarbrough had six.
