24-team Mililani Trojans Softball Classic runs this week

WAIPIO — Defending Division I state champion Iolani is among 24 teams that will be competing in the week-long 20th annual Mililani Trojans Softball Classic at Patsy T. Mink Central Oahu Regional Park.

Pool play was originally set to run Monday through Saturday, but inclement weather cancelled all of Monday's scheduled games. There will be six teams in each of the four pools with weekeday games at 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The weekend's slate of games will start at 9 a.m.

The final day — now most likely Monday, Feb. 17 (Presidents Day) — will feature a single-elimination tournament format with a winners and consolation bracket dependent on team results from pool play. Final games are set for 5:45 p.m.

Every league is represented in the preseason classic, including newcomer Kapolei Charter School, who will be competing in the Oahu Interscholastic Association's Division I West.

Pool A: Leilehua, Kapolei Charter, Maryknoll, Kaiser, Castle, Kamehameha-Hawaii
Pool B: Kapolei, Waialua, Punahou, Kamehameha, Kalani, Lahainaluna
Pool C: Mililani, Campbell, Iolani, Moanalua, Roosevelt, Baldwin
Pool D: Pearl City, Waianae, Kailua, Mid-Pacific, Maui, Waimea
