In the battle of the Warriors, Kamehameha-Kapalama managed to pull away from Kamehameha-Maui, 58-44 on the second day of the Orthopedic Associates Sacred Hearts Invitational at the Lancers' gymnasium on Thursday.

KS-Kapalama advances to play Waiakea after it routed Roosevelt, 73-50, in another battle of the Warriors on Friday at 8 p.m.

KS-Maui falls to the consolation bracket to face the Rough Riders at 3:30 p.m.

Kalina Obrey posted a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, Kiana Vierra sank five 3-pointers to finish with 16 points and Princy Paaluhi-Caulk added 14 points to lead KS-Kapalama.

KS-Kapalama overcame two monster double-double performances from KS-Maui's Kimani Fernandez-Roy (19 points, 19 rebounds) and Angel Pauole (12 points, 13 rebounds).

KS-Maui trailed by as much as 10 early on, but clawed back and trimmed it all the way down to one in the third quarter. However, Vierra made timely 3-pointers in the second and third quarters.

Obrey went to work in the second half to score 12 of her 21 points in the post and her basket plus the foul put KS-Kapalama back up by 10, 48-38, and never relented the lead.
